Volunteers Help Multiply Our Mission
Over 227 volunteers power the work of Purpose Brands every month. That’s 1263 hours per month. Simply put, we couldn’t do it without them.
Across our family of thrift stores, volunteers are essential to everything that happens before an item ever reaches the sales floor. From sorting and preparing donated goods, to helping with pickups, to extending awareness in the community, volunteers allow us to steward donations well and operate with purpose and efficiency.
Because of our volunteers:
- Donations are processed with care and integrity
- Stores remain well-organized and accessible
- More resources are directed toward the people and programs we support
Their time doesn’t just support operations, it multiplies our mission.
Why Volunteers Matter
As a parent organization, our role is to coordinate, train, and equip volunteers to serve effectively across all of our brands. This centralized approach allows us to scale impact while maintaining consistency, quality, and care.
Volunteers enable us to:
- Extend operational capacity without sacrificing values
- Maximize the impact of every donated item
- Reinvest financial resources into mission-driven programs
- Build meaningful community engagement across multiple locations
Volunteers allow us to do more good, with greater stewardship and sustainability.
What Volunteers Make Possible
Our volunteers serve in a wide range of ways that support both store operations and broader mission efforts, including:
- Sorting, tagging, and preparing donated items for sale
- Assisting with donation pickups and logistics
- Supporting in-store operations and seasonal initiatives
- Helping extend awareness through community presence and events
- Serving behind the scenes so our teams can focus on mission execution
Every role, visible or behind the scenes, plays a part in creating dignified, welcoming thrift experiences and fueling the impact beyond our stores.
